Malcoms Story IV
Well it's been 6 months since the
Tummy Tuck and all is going well, I went to get my new port placed a
few weeks ago and at the first visit they where unable to do it due to
some problems with scaring and granulation inside around an old stitch
that was left inside from my old port which all had to be cleaned up.
So I was sent home for a week to allow my body to heal up a little and the
following week they had me come in again; this time my port was
resituated but this time onto the right hand side at almost a mirror image
to where it was on the left side. It is a little closer to the surface
than the old one was before it was removed.
Weight loss is slow but steady and the wound has healed faster than ever
before, my health is great and I have started bike riding once again, It's
been a little cold for my morning walks so have stuck to my afternoon
rides of about 8 miles.
Things are all "go" now as the wedding is almost here just 6 weeks away,
lots of planning still to do but my eldest sister has taken control and I
thank god for her, she is my angel in my family.
weight loss still slow but is good for me now.
October has been very hard and I have not eaten much this past few weeks
Mum was rushed to Hospital and it was bad news for all the family,
mum was very ill and wouldn't live for much longer, the whole family took
it in turns to stay over night at the hospital by her side for the week
before she passed away, I was the only one who didn't as I took Dad home
each night so he could take his medication and get some rest.
All this happened just 4 weeks before my wedding, it was and still is very
hard. I was on the phone to Jayne several times a day keeping her up
to-date on how mum was doing and then to tell her she had passed away
which hurt us both very much as Jayne had never met my mum but from
everything I had told her and the times they had spoken on the phone they
knew so much about each other.
the passing weeks after mum's passing I had not eaten well and it was
showing on my health and stress had taken it's toll on my weight a little
as I had not eaten for several days then would really eat junk foods for a
few days. The cycle was only broken when I had to go get fitted for my
suit for the wedding and was in a bigger Jacket than I should have been --
I got back on track and started eating better and lost weight very fast as
I was drinking lots of water and juice and it kick started my weight loss again.
I went down 3 jacket sizes in 2 weeks and one pant size the suit shop was
amazed at the weight loss in such a short time.
OK it's the week before the wedding and had my band adjusted out/unfilled
from 1.9 mls to 0.5 mls for the wedding so I can eat food and not be
rushing off if I had a problem.
Everything is going well....Jayne arrived on the Saturday before wedding
and we had a nice Aussie Roast Lamb meal ready for the first night. Jayne
and her sister Irene enjoyed it very much and "yes " I had some too.....
hell I wasn't going to miss out on this treat, as I was booked in to
have a refill the week before I moved to the USA, just 2 1/2 weeks
after the wedding, so I had to make sure I didn't over eat and gain
weight but also wanted to enjoy myself while I could for this short time
and show Jayne and Irene many unique Aussie meals, which I did..... and
they enjoyed a lot.
Well it's now December and have been in the USA 2 weeks and met Janie for
the first time and we got along very well, her husband was away but
we had a great time talking and sharing stories and she is like a new
sister for me now, and has been there for me when I have needed
another person for some comfort.
I have been on a plateau for a few weeks now, almost 5 and Dr
Cirangle, who is Janie's Dr has offered to do a fill for me,
which I have had done now, was amazed when I stepped onto the scales
that my weight was the same as before I left Australia, but now in the
last 3 weeks I have lost 14 pounds and still loosing.
Since my arrival in the USA I have met many of the bandsters I have
emailed and chatted with online, and organized several walks, the
most memorable being The Golden Gate Bridge walk, we did this walk over 3
hrs and it was great and the views where clear.
It was a beautiful day and I am sure come summer, that I will
organize another bridge walk.
One of the walkers who will remain nameless uses a walker and did the walk
which was over what she normally would ever walk but wasn't going to miss
this walk. She is amazing
It's now late February and I have started a new Group.... and it is to
organize the First Bay Area Bandster Bash to be held in Mid 2005 roughly,
more will be posted into the events section of my site - watch this space
!
Well that's it for now, a little off the normal update, but
one that has helped me out a lot with my feelings for what has happened in
past 5 months and I'm sure I will need to relieve more stress and feelings
as time goes by with what happened during that time.
So please come back over time and follow my progress and read about how my
life has changed with my new life here in the USA with my wife Jayne and
all my new friends who are now my American Family who have offered help
and support for me since I arrived here.
To all of You -- Thank You and Hugs
From Myself and Jayne
